Confession: I love the rain.

I love a warm rain that I can walk in.

I love to curl up and drink something warm during a cold rain. On a blustery wet day, I love to build a fire and look out the window.

I love rain so much that I gave it as a middle name to one of my children.

It’s a blessing: “For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater…” Isaiah 55:10

So long for now, I’m going to take a stroll in the rain.

  1. Love this Sadie! I love how kids appreciate the rain. How they take time to splash in the puddles and get wet. It is wonderful how you see the beauty in the rain….lovely post 😀

    1. Thank you Antonia ? I do love to watch my kids play in the rain! And I have one in particular who goes out of his way to splash in puddles.

  2. You have helped me enjoy the rain from a different perspective. Like when you stop what you’re doing and you say, “listen… I think I hear the rain…” How when it rains at night, and you just went to sleep, and I know you hear the rain, that it’s a little bit of joy for you as you drift off asleep…

  3. Looks like you’ve inspired a lot of comments from fellow rain lovers–me included. I feel so peaceful inside when it rains. Almost nodded off just reading your post! Loved it.

  4. We don’t get much rain where I live, and don’t mind the occasional rainy day. But when we start getting two or three in a row, I feel like I’m getting cabin fever! But, the world needs people who appreciate rain. Otherwise, who the heck would ever live in a place like Seattle? LOL. (I do love Seattle though, just a little too rainy for me.) 🙂

    1. I can understand that, I like the sunshine too… But I really do enjoy a rainy day! I don’t know, Seattle might be too much for me. It would be fun to find out! Thanks KR ?

  5. There’s something so cleansing about the rain. And a springtime rain is so pleasing compared to the dreary stuff we get in November! Lovely pic! 🙂

  6. I am also a huuge lover of rains and coming from Kerala, India, where there are only two seasons (Summer and Rainy :D) I am missing it here in midwest US. So adorable that you gave rain as middle name to one of your kids <3 ( Let me also try to convince my hubby for that) 😀 Great post.
