It’s the weekend, hurray! Time to cut loose, invite some friends over, and eat some corn chips! ย Well, for some of you anyway. I thought it would be fun to post an easy and oh-so-tasty little dip. Hey, not everybody is clean eating these days, and for those who take occasional days off… Here’s to having a little fun! My friend Brenda brought this retro-style deliciousness to a party not so long ago. She called it “Bean dip”, and she was like “I don’t know why, there’s no beans in it.” Lol. Stuff like that cracks me up! Regardless, it was yummy and I had to have the bean-less recipe to share with you! (Call it what you want.)
Now the original calls for Velveeta, which even my favorite celebrity home cook Ree Drummond herself condones at times. However, I’ve listed a more “natural” option that I’ve come to appreciate- for all of you purists out there. (I can see both sides.)
4 – 15 oz. cans Hormel chili (no beans)
8 oz. Sour Cream
1 – 16 oz. block of Velveeta (or 2 – 8 oz. jars of Trader Joe’s Chipotle Queso)
2 – 10 oz. cans original Rotel Diced Tomatoes & Green Chilies
2 bags of your favorite corn chips
Family and/or friends (optional)
Place all of the ingredients into a crock pot and turn on low, stirring occasionally. When all ingredients are well incorporated and warm, bust out those corn chips and dip on. Whoot Whoot!
Yum! I don’t ever get tired of this dip at parties!
Never.
So easy!
Yes! And really flavorful! Thanks Nicky ๐
I’m thinking you should post her BLT dip too. It’s awsome ๐

Yum! Thanks for posting TJ’s alternative. Am swinging by there later today and will definitely check it out! ?
My pleasure! We’ve been happy with it! Thanks Jean ๐
Delicious. I’m obsessed with homemade dips!
It’s addicting, I’m not going to lie. Thanks Katina!
The Trader’s Joe’s cheese sounds awesome! I always go for dips like this when I’m at a party. Who needs to count calories when you’re at a party, right?
Exactly! (As long as we don’t party everyday ?). Thanks KR!
Hey I did my first Pure Barre class this morning! Can we say Pure Torture??? LOL. I signed up for 5 weeks unlimited classes. We can do this!!! xoxo
That’s great! If you can sign on for 5 weeks after the torture, then you are made of tough stuff. Come on KR, we’ve started let’s keep going!
Yummy!!!
? Thank you Freda!
Oh yes I love this dip! Delicious:)
Reminds me of “Archie Dip,” which I still need to feature! ๐
Mmmm! I could eat a whole bowl of this! Also, happy (belated) Mother’s Day!! I hope you had a great one!
I could too! Yummy ๐ Thank you Jasmine I did!
Oh man… I bet this is delicious. I’ve done Velveeta with the canned (no bean) chili before by itself, and it’s amazing. I can only imagine if you add in some sour cream and Rotel!
Thanks Katie ๐ Yup, that good… but better, lol!
I love cheesy dips!
They’re hard not to love! ๐ Thank you Antonia!
