Marco Island Farmer’s Market

One of my favorite things to do anytime, anywhere, if it is a possibility, is visit the local farmer’s market. Not only can you get reasonable (and often excellent) prices on local fruits, vegetables, flowers, artisan breads, pastries etc., you get to see and sample a variety of things that grow in the area! I am sorry to say that my favorite cheese vendor had already left for the season (only 2 weeks to go). But not to worry, what I didn’t get to spend on stinky cheeses I more than made up for in savory sausages! The whole experience is really “mommy time” where I can slow down… and smell the roses.

I enjoy the whole adventure. Some things look familiar…

And some things look completely exotic!

I love to see how the vendors set up their stands.

And I’m a sucker for trying local roasters and honey…

Thank you Marco Island Farmer’s Market! …Until we meet again. 🙂

And a quick shout-out for my favorite olive oil by Moz!

    1. I did not get the Jack fruit, but I enjoyed looking at many of that vendors exotic fruits! The market is right on the island, across from the Winn Dixie.

  1. This looks so fun, what a great tradition! Seems like you guys got to do a lot this trip:)

  2. Farmer’s markets…a way of life in my family forever. Not sure how we’d eat without them. Good timing. I wrote a post this a.m. about losing a favorite Amish vendor in our market. They become such good friends over the years. ?

    1. It is such a loss when we lose our favorite vendors! I love our markets at home too, unfortunately the local markets are seasonal. Thanks van! I’m looking forward to catching up with my blogging friends on Monday!

  5. I love farmer’s markets. They are treasure troves. I used to love going to the one in Guildford when I lived in the UK. I always had to buy a thing or two. I just couldn’t help it! 🙂

  6. Love the pictures Sadie! I am drooling over those tomatoes! The Farmer’s Market is so fun, but I always come home with way too much 😀
